RIS is an up-and-coming Sofia-born pop artist based in East London. With Caroline Polachek, Charli XCX and Troye Sivan as some of his major influences, RIS’s songs explore what it means to be a confused queer youth who’s a bit bad at relationships. The artist has been hard at work behind the scenes, writing and co-producing a string of introspective singles scheduled for early 2021. His eighties-tinged debut release ‘Poppy’ has been featured on the BBC Scotland show ‘Float’. Madeleine Dunne (Music Crowns): 'The queer singer-songwriter’s brooding vocals bring euphoric melodies to life over sizzling synth tracks.'
Recently, RIS launched ‘Airheads’, a podcast in collaboration with movement artist Oliver Sale, where among other topics the two explore how to set up boundaries without breaking them for once in your life and overall navigating the world as a messy queer Libra. Further, RIS is organising a teaching fundraiser for Mermaids UK, who work to support trans children and their families.
